Über is looking for a digital designer with front-end development experience, to design and build: creative campaigns, web pages, mobile apps, responsive emails and more.

You should apply if:

  • You have experience with modern digital design tools, such as: Adobe XD, Figma or Sketch. As well as the classics; PhotoShop and Illustrator
  • You have experience coding well-structured HTML, CSS animations and JavaScript interactions
  • You have a portfolio showcasing your skills – even if it’s a small portfolio right now
  • It’s important to you that your portfolio gets bigger and cooler
  • You get excited when thousands, hundreds of thousands or millions of people see the things you’ve done

Responsibilities

  • Designing and building interactive creative assets that will win awards such as interactive graphics, maps, long-form content pages/landing pages, single-page applications, mobile apps, games and quizzes.
  • Contributing to brainstorms and becoming our go-to on what things should look like and how they should work
  • Contributing to the design, build and ongoing improvement of existing projects
  • Working with our SEO experts to audit JavaScript and make sure search engines can view our clients’ web pages – it doesn’t matter if you don’t have much experience in SEO right now
  • Auditing websites and Google Analytics to identify issues users are having and propose solutions – it doesn’t matter if you’ve had limited experience with analytics so far
  • Building multivariate tests in a CRO platform like Unbounce, VWO or similar – it doesn’t matter if you’ve never used the platform before
  • Contributing to thought-leadership with blog posts, videos, talks or just ideas around skills you’ve learned, techniques you’ve perfected or weird little quirks you’ve spotted – anything that will make life easier for people working in the industry. It doesn’t matter if you’re not a writer/not photogenic/don’t want to get on stage right now.

This is a key role within the company. Besides heading up and developing the digital team you will work closely with the MD to push the company forward and develop and strengthen the brands digital offering.

You will need to be equally digital and business minded. You will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to brief and guide the development, design and social teams. You will be diligent, focused and dependable, able to build strong relationships and be a team player.

You must be able to put together and manage digital campaign strategies and advise clients both existing and new on all things digital. Be the main point of contact across client and agency account services for all digital initiatives and projects. Be pro-active with clients finding weaknesses and recommending solutions. Internally you will be business savvy and be able to see opportunities for growth, implement initiatives to expand the business and capitalise on Übers creative and brand strengths to bring its digital department in-line and alongside.

You will be familiar with and able to describe modern digital terms in detail to all walks of life. Such as; UX, user journeys, responsive design and social media strategy. Have an awareness of past, current and future trends. Such as; parallax, material design, chat bots, digital assistants, XR, blockchain & machine learning. You will also understand the differences between; Mobile-first vs Desktop-first, Hybrid App vs Native App, Waterfall vs Agile, Wireframe vs Prototype, On-page SEO vs Off-page SEO. Additionally, you will be expected to understand the best practices when approaching social media campaigns, strategies and media spend.
