The Perfume Shop #wherewillittakeyou

This week we celebrated National Perfume Day with another #wherewillittakeyou competition for The Perfume Shop. After a brilliant response to the first stage of the project, we again worked on the #wherewillittakeyou microsite and creation of all social content. This time round users entered by uploading their ‘perfume shelfie’, with all images feeding through to the site’s gallery. Once again we were thrilled with the feedback, seeing over 500 entries in just two days… A very happy National Perfume Day!

Digital Ad Spend

Digital ad spend reached a record £8.61bn last year, showing a 16.4 per cent year-on-year rise. Unsurprisingly, it was mobile that accounted for the majority of growth, hitting £2.63bn. IAB chief strategy officer Tim Elkington commented, putting the results down to an increasing array of devices people use to access the internet. After what, maybe we’ll see be seeing VR up there too!

Glued

Following on from the fact that smartphones are bigger than ever, new app Glued is on the mission to combat the average person spending 23 days a year on mobile devices – yikes. Ironically, it’s a smartphone app that’s trying to get you to spend less time on your smartphone. The app tracks how much you’re using your device and shares the information with your family. It comes down to feeling the smartphone shame, and whether or not that’s enough to make you switch off!
