Young’s pubs and hotels are at the heart of local communities in London and the South of England. With more than 230 establishments, their award-winning design approach means excellence in ambience as well as service and location. From poetic pubs steeped in history to secret underground cocktail bars, the character and individuality of each of their premises give them a unique feel. Their pubs have style and soul, and the people who work with them have pride in their culture and passion for the work they do.


Young’s wanted an internal brand communication solution that captured the energy, fun and true essence of what makes them such a unique and special company to work for. Because of the nature of the business, most of the employees are split across multiple pubs, bars and hotels throughout London and the south. Whilst they had a brand brochure in place, they needed a communication piece that would connect better with the team and truly reflect the history, people and values behind the brand. Our task was to create something that would engage with, educate and motivate the full Young’s team to believe in the brand, its purpose and its plan for the future in the hospitality sector.


We created and produced a fun & quirky stop-motion-animated scrapbook style that would act as a thread for us to tell the story behind the brand and to demonstrate the Young's ethos, its vision and spirit with bags of personality. We created one longer, hero video in a modular fashion, allowing for shorter, bitesize videos to highlight the company’s history, sustainability, values, people and technology. These shorter pieces could then be shared with relevant groups. The resulting videos and style provide the energy and the engagement needed to hook internal team members in, to understand and get fully behind the Young's brand.
