Audi is one of the best-selling luxury car brands in the world and is synonymous with being at the forefront of automotive technology and precision engineering. Audi has partnered BAFTA for the past 14 years, ensuring that all VIP guests are chauffeured to red carpet events in a style befitting such prestigious occasions.
Über were approached by Audi UK to produce an online film to promote the German car giant’s status as official partner of the 2017 British Academy Film Awards. The aim of the 60-second short was to capture the sense of anticipation and expectation of the BAFTA Film Awards being hosted at London’s Royal Albert Hall for the first time in 20 years. The project had a short lead time and due to logistics, had a shoot window of just 24 hours.
Entitled ‘The Road to Prediction’, the spot stars actors James McAvoy (The Last King of Scotland, Atonement) and Tuppence Middleton (Dickensian, War & Peace) offering their thoughts and predictions for the 2017 EE British Academy Film Awards, whilst travelling in an Audi A8. Interviewees also included respected film critic Danny Leigh and BAFTA’s Chief Executive Amanda Berry OBE. The film was shot in sumptuous black and white and captures the candid nature of the interviews and provides glimpses of the capital as they make their way to the Royal Albert Hall.
